So often we do things without realizing that there is a responsibility to handle things like this with respect. Now those who weren’t aware have a better understanding. A coworker passed away recently and my company will be flying the American flag at half- staff for 10 days. I’m not sure if this very nice man serviced in the military. Growing up in the 60s and the 70s we had flag monitors who put up the flag in the morning and took it down in the afternoon, today’s offspring don’t have a clue because schools have dropped the ball. No one respects the flag. You see them flying all tattered and ripped or even people using them as boxer shorts. And look at those thin blue line that law enforcement supporters use. To change the colors is a violation of the US Flag Code but no one cares, just change things to fit the individual’s messages. Sad so many died for this flag and we can’t even respect it. Never mind the ignorant people posting the laughing icon, they have excepted American money and other contributions from America, who helps the world and they show no respect, this may change. I have purchased flags and left them at homes where I see tattered ones flying. Haven’t done that in a while. Haven’t flown one on my own home in a while either. People need to learn how to treat real humans with proper respect, rather than bowing down to this beacon of white supremacy, genocide, colonialism, war, and patriarchy.

One nation under God! I respect the flag of the United States of America and the rights of others who do the same in respect. For the scum who do disrespect our flag, I let you know when you do you’re walking on my country you’re walking on the fighting side of me. Tomorrow as we stand together as Americans remembering Sept. 11th, let’s remember all of those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
