You should show your appreciation to him. David Bowie I’m happy hope you’re happy too. I was stopped in the street for having hair like a boy’s. Mine was very short, people were looking at us and shaking their heads. Just like today’s transgender is no more prevalent than our forefather’s wig and high heels fashion. It’s funny how the 60s became down with the long hairs when in most history long hair was very prominent.
David Bowie I’m happy hope you’re happy too poster
Wow-what would they say about hair today then, there are some weird and not so wonderful styles out there, and all the colors of the rainbow. I don’t know what the problem is Jesus had hair up to his shoulders. If it was ok for him it should be ok for everyone else. I remember walking into a restaurant in Montgomery Alabama. When I walked in everyone in the restaurant stopped eating utensils down on the table and stared at me. I turned around and walked out the door. Listening to this interview I had forgotten how beautiful David Bowie’s speaking voice was- quiet and soothing, almost elegant. Quite a mixed group of young men too, college boys with their scarves, a teddy boy, David. Today the opposition would say something about how long hair is a native American hairstyle and people who copy it are committing cultural appropriation. I came across this when my hair had a year long. He was a trailblazer whose will was underestimated back then. Thanks. That’s hilarious. What’s was outrageous then is so passe, now. It seems so ridiculous to have a fight for the right to have long hair persecution-free. I really do miss David. He was so cute, he will be missed. I grew up in the sixties. Brilliant time, in all respects. Watching this reminds me of how narrowminded and stifling the older generation was. Was a much needed time of awakening.
I’m happy for you
I remember those times well enough, only three TV channels, I think, at that time. And my boss when I started work said I had to get a haircut if I wanted to carry on working there. There was a fair bit of abuse from skinheads and some of my mates were beaten up because of their hair, back in safe Landern. David Bowie I’m happy hope you’re happy too. It was so scandalous not to have short back and sides and we changed all of those old fashioned ideas in the 1960s. Mini skirts, long hair, flower power, rock music, the pill, everything developed in those heady days. Stylers who make the A list have to walk feeling shame the majority of the time. Telling my age now but I do remember this time also when mini-skirts came out. It does seem naive compared to controversial discussions nowadays, but the point is strong and alive. Then and now people prosecute everything, and I have a lot of admiration for those who stand for themselves. Unbelievable the comment about how will you be identified as a man if you have long hair. What a reflection of how attitudes were then. Well said the lad who said ‘poor show indeed’ with just the right amount of contempt. As a mum of 4 sons. He should have put a razor to that pathetic tuft. Funny thing is none of those guys would look out of place today except for the lack of full beards.
