This is the most horrible character that I have seen. I try to watch only the weather portion of the local news and bits and pieces of World News Tonight. Anything else makes my stomach tighten and my blood pressure rise. Pennywise Stephen King. I saw Stephen King talk about his movie The Dead Zone and how the villain Stillson compares to Trump as president. It is an uncanny prediction. There were two stories of his I read.

I liked the Green Mile, it had a lot of human emotions and situations. Good against evil, good always prevails, just like life itself. I personally would put Stand By Me higher, but it’s still a good list overall. The Stand was just awful. Like all TV movies usually are. Ironically, except maybe The Shining, TV movie. IT was awful as well. I would have chosen The Dead Zone. I would choose Stand By Me, The Green Mile and then Shawshank. I really did not like The Shining. I loved the book but felt like the movie was way off. I am sorry but The Shining in no way does justice to the book. I am not usually critical about movie adaptations from books because I realize it is the director’s artistic license, but this movie bugged me a lot. The character’s he created had so much depth and layers which is why I really enjoyed the book. I wish the director spent more time letting the audience get to know the characters. Especially Wendy Torrance. In the movie, she is depicted as this careless and fragile woman and the book depicts her as a compassionate and wise woman. I know this is an iconic movie and I probably would’ve enjoyed it if I hadn’t read the book but this movie is nothing like the book. Totally agree with what Stephen King said about it. Surprised to see The Stand in that list. For its time, it’s a decent adaptation but no way it’s better than The Dead Zone. And Stephen King did vote, and his pick was The Mist.
Do you love Stephen King?
But to make a movie as good as a book would take a 5 hours movie. King’s character and plot development are brilliant. I thought Kathy Bates did a great job of showing what a creeper she was. Pennywise Stephen King. I think the books are better because Steven kings books are visualized in our minds, in a much better fashion, than the movie. Now, Storm of the Century, which he wrote specifically for TV was excellent. I didn’t read The Shining but I saw the movie. The movie doesn’t state it outright, but I get the feeling Jack Torrance owned the hotel in another life which something horrific takes place which keeps bringing him back to it. The novel is huge, sprawling, and at times seemingly aimless. It’s not one of his easier reads. The miniseries did a great job of cutting out unnecessary storylines and focusing on what was important. I still adore it. I remember reading the stand when I have the flu and was bedridden. It’s so scary but you can’t put it down because you have to see how it ends. The same thing with The Shining. I understand why he was upset with the first version of the movie The Shining with Jack Nicholson. Because it leaves so much out of the book that explains the characters and the reason the hotel was like it was. When I first discovered His books I could not read them fast enough. But I have to admit that as I was reading one.
